How to get drunk with 4 rmb
My friend just tagged me with this pic on facebook, and I love it! It really reminds of a typical Shanghai night. As a student with a minimal budget I didn't even want to spend money on many drinks at C's bar. Nope! Instead we went to Kedi and bought rice vodka for 4 rmb a bottle and drank it ALL up (yes it was the most disgusting thing I have ever tasted but we did get a bit tipsy of this 62% alcohol percentage drink) when we were on the way to the fancy Bund in our 20 rmb taxiride (first stop, Glamour Bar and later on to Attica's poolparty in July). Ain't life sweet?
It really looks like I'm enjoying drinking this shit.

Yeah, you should listen to anon. Drinking is bad for you, really. Let me be a nerd and link to this:

But whatever, everyone's got their own poisons. Just don't over do it tis all I can say. Be smart about it.
dingle: yeah it is, but their 10 rmb drinks is like drinks for children, I'm into strong drinks.

I just happened on your blog, its great to get your locations for a fun time. I was in Stockholm in July and partied it up at Berns and just in Shanghai at Barbarossa and the Jazz, Wine club just last week. Wow, you have really two great cities in your world.

Berns has a large outdoor patio and was packed with people on a June Saturday night. We went hoppin around to other bars but came back to Berns and it was shakin. I talked with a local stockholm friend and they confirmed Berns to great even in the shorter days, not just outdoors in June. Since I visited only in June, I wanted to give you good info!

wow, you drank the 4 kuai baijiu? You are definitely more hard core than me. That stuff tastes like stale lighter fluid, although I can't imagine there is any other substance on earth which has as much alcohol per RMB as that heinous liquid.
hehe yep, and I drank the whole friggin bottle :P
