Today's outfit
Someone commented that I'm immature because I think too much of how I should look. I agree somewhat. It is a bit silly, but it is not AS silly as some girls I see on the streets of Stockholm. 12 years old girls wearing Diesel Jeans and LV bags already. I had an interesting conversation with a Germany exchange student the other day, he said that he was very surprised that everyone cared so much of what they wore. He said you can directly see if the person on the campus is Swedish or an Erasmum student.
I agree, in Sweden, especially Stockholm everyone dress like it was fashion week everyday (right now in NYC). I don't know why though, our neighbour countries such as Norway and Denmark don't seem to care as much.

Have you ever been in the neighbor countries? How do you know if people there don't care about fashion? What is the correct definition of fashion anyway? Listen, I agree that you really are immature and comparing with 12-year-old stupid kids wrapped in clothes with lux.brands automatically gives all 21-year-old girls the right to look like a spoiled skank. The reason why your style is never in is because you always copy the hot trend but never ahead the trends!
Come on, be creative. And btw, your "Laguna-Beach" accent sounds really annoying.
of course i've been to some of them. I think I have my own personal style, but of course you follow what is trendy at the moment also just because it is those things you can find and get in the stores.
nice outfit. it would look nicer with some sort or black or gray hat
You can't dress fashion-y and be ahead of the trend, because being IN is knowing THE trend.
Trends aren't just based on what famous people wear, this is something non-fashiony idiots don't comprehend.
Trends are based on EVERYTHING and are calculated based on the following economic rises or plunges, wars, humanistic movements, politics, current events...
Fashion trends are predicted using very extense market and sociopsychological researches.
You can't dress AHEAD of the trend, because you'd be dressing either in winter/spring clothes whilst it being summer/fall or you'd be dressing totally contradicting the future trends.
People who don't follow trends have their own PERSONAL STYLE, which is A TOTALLY DIFFERENT THING, which isn't "aheading" any trend.
AND that is why, my dear friend Sienna, is a true fashionista. :D
YAY!
Your "Laguna-Beach" accent and head wiggling is really annoying. I hope you wiggle it OFF!
this is a really cute outfit. normally i would have thought just a bra under the lace would have looked slutty but with the jacket it looks really good. would have to be an outfit where you keep the jacket on though.
ps. your legs look muuuuch better with tights and on your tippy toes. ^_^
oh and with all accents ppl either love it or hate it. i actually think your accent is quite cute.
shopgirl sets the trends !
first the glasses and now this !
Oh please...If your personal style is strong enough you might be able affect environment around you and then create your own trend. (Taking the Japanese street fashion as a good example.) You can be inspired by the current trend but instead of suck to it, it's the best to keep the good ones and away from those that don't fit and only make you look stupid. Among the trend suck-ups there are so-called "brand whores". Those people are the worst...they don't have their own opinion at all and acting like they know about everything.
So, personal style lasts but not the "hot" trend. It only get improved and consolidates the small trendy components from season to season.
If you still don't get it, you are an idiot.
Well I don't follow it very strictly, I happen to like the lace trend, so as the checked pattern trend, but i don't really like velvet material which is really in now, so I don't wear it. I wear what I like. Simple as that ;) I'm really not a fashion slave or a brand person. Most of the clothes I wear at the moment I have bought in small shops in Shanghai or in H&M and WEEKDAY (a Swedish clothing chain. Of course there are certain brands I especially like because of the style of their clothes such as Acne. Although I think brand on bags is quite important...
Please don't become a fashion slave or "brand whore"...It's tragic.Well, good luck on focus on the style you like and at the same time really suits you.
Despite the accent and immaturity you are quite open minded and treat the criticism with a good attitude.
dear anonymous:
You don't seem to get what a fashion trend is all about.
Japanese fashion is a totally different thing, but ALSO follows it's trends, such as Gothic Lolita, J-jop, etc.
Personal style can have an infuence, but a REAL trend is set based on the world's current situation.
Trends are predicted doing research, and displayed in textile fairs, style and trend reports and lastly fashion shows.
Take Comme Des Garcons (very famous in Japan) for example, very different concept to the rest of the designers, but STILL follows the season's trends.
You've got nice legs!
Nice style, I agree with Tracey, I don't think you could take off jacket/blazer. IMHO, though I don't think that outfit is something you could wear on the street, but more to an evening function....BTW the skirt looks see through so you might have to be a bit careful...
Would work in NYC, Europe, not in China though
