Ask and Answer

I get a lot of emails from you readers and I thought it would be better if you could ask your questions in this comment section instead, and then I will give you a long throughout answer. A lot of times I get the same questions and it's a bit timeconsuming to answer every email with the same answer.
You can ask whatever except too personal questions hehe, but I think you know the boundaries ;)

Here are the top 3 questions I receive:

1. What is the best shopping place in Shanghai?
When you're in Shanghai I would suggest you to first go to Qipu Road (close to Nanjing Walking Street), a lot of other small shops you see on the streets stock up their clothes from Qipu Road and sell it for a much more expensive price. Go to Qipu Road first and get to know their collections so you don't get cheated in other stores. Qipu Road fits both male and females. On the first, second floor is very busy. 3rd, 4th floor is better and is full of shops instead of tiny boots, although it will also be abit more expensive than on first or second floor. Buildings to check out are New Xingwang and Old Xingwang, most taxidrivers know which buildings these are.

2. Why are you in Sweden?
I get a lot of emails from people asking me why I'm in Sweden, they think that I'm some kind of exchange student here which is not the case. I am a Swedish citizen, have lived in Sweden all my life. I speak much better Swedish than Chinese and am currently trying to figure out how to get better in Chinese.

3. What do you do during weekends in Shanghai?
I like eating out, I love walking on some random streets. I often hang out in Zhongshan Park, in Cloud 9 Mall, I love Carrefour for some reason. I also like Jing An Si a lot, I love the supermarket beneath City Plaza. Also I usually go out in the evenings. Clubs I really like in Shanghai is Lounge18 and bonbon (but none of my friends want to go there). To be honest I'm getting disappointed in Shanghai's nightlife, in 2006 it was great, so as 2007 with mint (was my favourite club), Attica (it was really good at that time), etc. I hate the clubs inside Fuxing Park and those on Yueyang Road (Muse, Sky, etc.) Believe it or not, I also dislike Bar Rouge. Just too many french people for me to handle. I really hope some cool venues will open up soon in SH.

Thank God someone else feels like me about French people....around 80% of them I have met have been cynical, arrogant, rude and dismissive of anything non-French.
I unfortunately had the misfortune of working in Paris for 6 months, never again.
French people get your act together. You ain't all that!
