Luxury or just terrible?
WOW, just heard this info from the woman sitting next to me at work. She lives in the apartment with her husband during weekdays, it's only during weekend their daughter gets to live with them. To see their daughter who's like 4 or 5 years old two times a week...???Oh, and to something totally different. Why do people say for an example. Kate Moss inspires me, or when famous designers say: I get inspired by gonig to vintage shops.
inspire = copy or semi-copy!!!!!!!
Lanvin's mr Elbaz has clearly been to Qipu road and ended up with this Tshirt...

hmm .. not good for the kid ..as the best memories most people remember is the sweet things at home with their parents during their childhood.. it undoubtebly requires lot of patience and energy to look after kid for young working couples, but its all worthed to watch ur kid grow, discover new things and trust u completely in the process.
Cheers

As a fashionista, you should know that the fashion industry is driven by riffing or being inspired by antecedant designs, such as Dooney & Burke modifying a LV bag, or updating the Channel suit for a fresher feel.
Siyan inspire DOES NOT mean copy or semi copy >_<

have a read of the above definitions on the link above.
Also you are meant to be a fasionita. I think youll find that most fashion starts on the catwalk and then highstreet labels take ideas from the catwalk onto the highstreet. Designer labels start thinking of designs well in advance , big labels will be already working on designs for 2010.
There is a big industry on taking what designers make and making them into something for affordable and for the average person.
Is the girl in boarding school? My cousin's the same deal, she's been to boarding school basically all her life.
Haven't you heard? Imitation is the finest form of flattery, nothing is original anymore. The people who created the originals are dead.
paul and tracey: I'm NOT a fashionista, and I can't agree with you. Haven't you heard the "scandals" that Martin Margiela, Marc Jacobs has been through, totally copying images from some vintage shops and put it on their shirts?? That is not even semi copying. that is TOTAL COPYING.
now I agree with something picasso
I do design. Things work in cycles.... fashion these days can be inspired from the 50s for example.
There will be elements that are really similar or even elements that look exactly the same but its not. It might be used in a new way, slightly altered to make it contemporary rather then from the past.
either i promise you its really unlikely high end designers will be stealing ideas from the highstreet its definitely the other way round.
also as you said they were copying images... thats one element of something.
Designers use iconic images that are not produced by them self in their work all the time. why? because that image has already got a meaning behind it, a history so using that image sometimes is far more effective then making a brand new one.
Tracey: did you hear about the Marc Jacobs incident? It was a scarf he copied. The image and the colours, the style of the scarf, the ONLY difference was that it stood Marc Jacobs on the scarf with a handwritten font.
It ended up with the guy suing the Marc Jacobs the company, and he then got money from the company AFTER it was discovered.
THAT'S DIRTY!
Also Martin Margiela, he took a special image of some Tshirt and put it on his not specially designed Tshirt, and got sued.
DIRTY WORK
Other than the dirty stunts these so called fashion gods/ goddesses are doing( Really pathetic! Who wears couture, anyway?)..Parents can do far worst stunts and this is by having kids and treating them as trophies or status symbols. Sending them away to boarding schools and or to far away family members, and allowing themselves to think and believe that they are working their asses off for the kids future?!! CRAP!!! Totally hideous! There should be a global law that restricts parents to do as such,or better yet, LAw that protects children from braindead parents.
And by the way, if you cant raise a child, why the hell bother to impregnate ur spouse/gf?
And when teenagers act on their frustrations and become difficult to deal with...crappy parents would say, ""how did i raise you to become stubborn and ill mannered??"
CRAP! dont u think??
Mariz
yeah, this little girl lived with grandpa instead of together with her parents...
sighs, it's sad
well i dont follow fashion as closely as you do so no i didnt hear about those incidents.
What i can say is shit happens. ppl rip off ppl etc... but im sure there are tons of stories of highstreet brands being sued by designers brands.
i still believe that being inspired by something isnt stealing/ copying though.
and when something is copied then i call it being copied not inspiration.
btw on the kids going to boarding school etc... its chinese culture, the parents dont really bring up the children in a lot of cases its always grandparents or aunts etc.... also not all parents send their children to boarding school to get rid of them. A lot of the time its to give them a better education as boarding schools offer that and to make the children grow stronger.
to tracey..
"to give them a better education as boarding schools offer that and to make the children grow stronger."
Where this came from, anyway? where are u from? Cmon! You are hallucinating, believing a crapload of reasoning.
Kids should be where there parents are.Period!
there are a few types of schools.
government funded ones
private funded ones
boarding schools
There are very few excellent government funded ones, some barely pass reasonable standards, they definitely do not have the best facilities and good teachers tend to sell themselves out and work for private schools for a better reputation and salary.
Private ones these are tend to be better. They have the funds to buy gyms, swimming pools, machinery for design technology, amazing computer facilities, art supplies galore etc....
Then there are the boarding schools. These are where all the really rich kids go. Not all kids can go here. In fact i know a couple of children when about 11 actually asked to go to boarding school when i was younger. Boarding schools generate a huge amount of income and are suppose to be the best schools in the country.
This is england but id imagine this is the same any where.
Those parents dont fuck their kids off because they arent prepared to be parents. they do it because they work hard and have the money to send them there. Im not saying that this is the case for all of them but i think youve been watching too many american movies where the step mom threatens to send the kids to boarding school.
I know plenty of boarding school kids, and i knew lots in Shanghai who loved it.
