BAD (Chinese) TEACHER

I can't believe what just happened...
As you might know I'm currently doing a double degree, one in business economics, and one in Chinese. As I'm focusing on my Business degree I don't usually go to my Chinese classes.
I have been allowed by the teachers to only do the tests and homework in order to pass that Chinese programme. So last week I went to talk to one of my teachers, a Chinese teacher who is working here temporarily, she will soon leave Sweden.
Anyhow we agreed to meet up today so that I could prove her my Chinese oral skills. So, I take my 5kg's heavy books in my bag and go to school in this -1 celsius degree weather. When I'm there I'm waiting and waiting. She's oviously not there as I knocked on her door.

So I take contact with another teacher in the building and ask for her, the teacher calls her up, and WHAT DOES IT TURN OUT??  She's AT HOME!!!!!!!!!
She had forgotten or just didn't bother to see me, so she left her job earlier!!!!!! What a twit!!!!!
And she told the teacher that we would agree to another date where I could do this test. WHAT!!!??? Couldn't she just right there right now just tell me another date? She will probably never take contact with me (BECAUSE she didn't before when she was supposed to!!!)

WHAT A BLOODY BAD TEACHER, you don't do that to your students! Talking about being irresponsible and unorganized. Thank god she'll leave Sweden soon because we really don't need teachers like her (thank god for free speech in this country). But I NEED to pass that course, what the hell. These things makes me SUPERMAD!!! A Swedish uni-teacher would NEVER do that to their students when they had personally agreed to a time to meet up during his/her working hours. He/she would get a BIG warning for doing so!

I'm pissed.

God I miss Shanghai

I miss Shanghai so bad so bad so bad. It even hurts.
Just checked out smartshanghai and I see that they have expanded the selections of Ladies' Night there.
The parties are so glamourous there and oh, and just so much fun. And amazingly cheap, especially for girls. Going to Jade on 36, MAO or Mint for free and even get free drinks. That's paradise!!!

I love Shanghai so much because I can afford to live like a big city girl there. I have always been so fascinated with Carrie's lifestyle in Sex and The City, you know just walking out of your apartment and take a taxi to whatever place you like, have brunch with your girlfriends and talk about last night's amazing party, shop outfits for another night out, and have the anticipations for the later evening. God, I love it.

It sounds so shallow, but so what? I think what's important is that you enjoy your life, and I really enjoy every minute when I'm living in Shanghai. Also I guess, that the friends you hang out with is very important, the best is when you have friends alike you, who want to do the things you like. and go to the places you like, etc. Which just makes the stay even more fun ^_^

Paris Hilton is in SHANGHAI right now!!!!!

Isn't that cool?????? The most famous woman in the celebrity world is right now in Shanghai. She rejected staying over at Hilton Hotel, but chose Grand Hyatt instead. She has already booked 3 evening dresses from Xintiandi's Shanghai Tang.
I looooove Shanghai Tang, they have so many nice things, and their clothes are absolutely stunning and beautiful.
Anyhow she is going to attend the MTV Style Gala in Grand Stage by People's Square, and the official after party will be held in Attica, so she will probably go there. That is sooooo cool. I'm so excited, too bad I'm not in Shanghai now. She probably will be on second floor in Attica (the most boring part of Attica) but maybe you'll see her shake her ass in the RnB room. Awwwww, can't believe that she will be partying in Attica!!! LOOK, we even have the same kind of sunglasses. So far she has been visiting Xintiandi, strolling down the Bund, eaten dumplings in Nanxiao restaurant in Yuyuan. She has also had dinner at Whampoa Club, M on the Bund, right now she is probably at Attica.

This Shopgirl Thing

Lately I have found out that more people than I thought are actually regurlary reading this blog, including my family, my friends, my corridor friends, some people from my uni class, my mum's friends, etc - the list could go on. It sometimes freaks me out, that is why I have deleted the link to this blog from my Facebook account and I don't try to advertise it now as I did before by spamming other blogs etc.
But yes, it freaks me out that people will think I'm this Shopgirl in real life too! Shopgirl is immature, shallow, material (Siyan is also materialized though), loves to party, arrogant, bitchy, etc.  They who know me and who reads the blog think the blog is hilarious, maybe because they know I'm pretending to be someone I'm not. But some people thinks that what I'm saying is what I stand for and no it's not. PLEASE take what I say as a pinch of salt. I'm not being serious in a lot of my posts. I'm just trying to make a Tuesday or Thursday more fun :)

WOW, I have seen USA's next president

I just realized it now that with 98% certainty that I have seen America's next president in the Senate room when I was in DC. While I was sitting there I only recognized those most famous ones like Hilary Clinton (she really doesn't look like she does in photos) I even didn't think it was her first, but someone who I definitely recognized was John Kerry, he does look exactly the same how he does in television. When I was sitting in the Senate it was a so called "Death Ceiling" which means that ALL the senators HAVE TO attend it, which means I saw all the senators in that room. America's next president is for sure a senate at the moment. WOW, just imagine I have seen the future's most powerful human being in real life.

Pretty cool? huh
oh, btw, George W Bush was in the Capitol building the same time I was!!!! Soooooo cool! I remember the guards favoured me to visit the senate rom because I had a Swedish passport :D

Marks and Spencer opening in Shanghai!!!

After H&M and C&A's store openings in SH, another big retailer is entering the Mainland China market; Mark and Spencers, I know all the British expats will jump of joy, but god, Mark and Spencer??????? Their clothes are horrible, well at least 4 years ago they were horrible.

According to their website they say that their Values are Quality, service, innovation and trust. INNOVATION MY ASS!!!

Well, at least I'm smiling for their brits, heard their underwear can be nice though.
They are right now in a planning period, the store will open before summer 2008. Means I will have to go in there and check it out, probably not the clothes but the guys.

"Marks & Spencer, one of the most widely recognized chain stores in the U.K., plans to open its first store in China, despite a slow sales growth (WHAT A SUPRISE!!!!!!)

The British retailer will set aside £1.1 billion for global growth, with its major push into China and India next year, according to its latest statement. Leveraging on the existing markets in Hong Kong and Taiwan, the company will enter China with its wholly-owned stores. In addition, its first store in the country is expected to open by the end of March 2009, probably located in Shanghai.

China now is standing in front of the new scratch line and attracting a growing number of foreign investors. Besides, Chinese consumers are becoming more discerning, and pursuing branded suppliers with fantastic value. (YOU'RE NOT GOING TO BE HAPPY WITH M&S)

Economists suggest that investors should devise an ideal market entry strategy and execution plan before they can succeed in this huge potential market. (PFFFFTTT!!!!!)

Shanghai craze for Beyonce

Beyonce was playing in Shanghai yesterday and my friend went and saw her, and she said the concert was amazing. I really wished I could go and see her, being honest I have NEVER been to a big concert with a superstar that I really like, I have been to a Rolling Stones concert though in Detroit (and I have seen Mel C from Spice Girls singing live if that counts?).
Just this year, Avril Lavigne, Christina Aguilera, Rolling Stones have been to SH touring. Next event is Linkin Park, they are actually quite good. AND don't forget Spice Girls reunion tour!!!!!!!!!!!!
