Simply amazing

I'm totally in love! Just saw the pictures from the ShanghaiTang's 07 Spring campaign (I know I'm late) , but just had to post the pictures because they are absolutely breathtaking. I wonder who the photographer is, it is simply amazing, how he matches the colours and light. He really grabs the today's Chinese culture in one photo. I think some of the photos are absolutely breathtaking
I think the photographer really captures the buzz and the peace of this fascinating city in one shot, and having this absolutely beautiful model in it just make the photos even more gorgeous!!! Now this is what I call real beauty. WOW! Two thumbs up!

I love checking out thatsshanghai's ads

Some of them are freaking hilarious!!!

I remember once when M and I were sitting in Element Fresh on Huaihai Road to rest our feets after some shopping on Shaanxi Road. We were checking out what cool events were going on in the expat magazine thatsshanghai, while we did that we also checked out some of their classifieds/ads.

Some guy searched for a Chinese girl with beautiful feets that he could kiss (ew) and she had to only wear over 10 cm stilettos.
We were laughing so hard, and we spoke loudly and M even mentioned that the almost bald expat sitting 10 metres away might be the guy and I started to laugh even harder, I promise that he heard us, hahahaha.

I really miss those scenes from Shanghai. M and I would do lots of crazy fun things that we have the excuse to do because we are young and silly. I will miss the youth!!!

BAD attention

Gong Li is so pretty, but in this Roberto Cavalli dress she just look slutty, look where the lines lead to on her body. NO NO NO!!!

Speaking of which, Roberto Cavalli for H&M is out in late November, not sure if I will quie for that, most of his collection contains long New Year's Eve kind of dresses. This will be the only day when you see Swedes acting non-Swedish, they run into the store and take whatever they can get and if they can't they try to steal from others. I'm serious, the newspapers even talked about how crazy it was.

But MAAAAAAN, Imagine the craze outside the H&M on Huaihai Road!!!!!! Make some police men to go there so no one gets hurt, I'm seriously worried.

Culture Differences

Got these pictures from another Swedish guy's blog about living in Shanghai, it's not made by him though, I thought these pics were pretty witty.
1, Queing system in the West respectively in the East
2, Beauty ideal in the West respectively in the East
3. Leadership in the West respectively in the East

me myself and I

  • I have lost my glasses, so I have a heavy headache
  • I have a huge exam on 2nd November and I need to study more
  • I am on a diet, but I can drink some extent of chocolate milk
  • I am extremely stressed
  • Halloween party on Friday
  • Need to save money
  • I MISS SHANGHAI, more than ever

also, I got a really good Swedish contact for my coming article about working in SH, but he doesn't answer my emails (he is a top manager of a Swedish company so I guess he is extremely busy), but I'm reaching my deadline soon, I have another Swedish contact that randomly took contact with me but unfortunately it turns out to be a guy I met at a house party in Shanghai, and I don't even remember the guy because it was that night of the notorious Tourist party in July, if you remember..........because I can't remember a single thing from that night. Would not be appropriate for me to interview this guy....

I'm desperate, my first deadline!!!!!!!!!!

Chinese music

men I can't say that I like Chinese music, I have always thought it's extremely cheesy and too boring. Most of the Chinese music are really slow love songs which makes me extremely bored, I seriously start to think that I'm developing some kind of ADD or whatever it's called....cool, now mum will get pissed because I said that.......whatever. You might know that I love upbeat music such as Armand Van Helden or Tiesto.
ah well....BUT there are some beeeeeaaauutiiful AND amazing Chinese music. I think Jay Chou's music is really good, he obviously has talent compared to other singers such as Jolin who just makes me want to puke.

made by fendi of course with karl lagerfeld as the head of designer. but don't you think that ziyi wears a bit too much eyeliner, she pbviously doesn't know what less is more means, although it is cool with something different.

I hate China Firewall

Once upon a time my blog was really really popular because people from China could read it. But since China keeps blocking/unblocking/blocking/ so on....frequently my dear readers has just given up on trying to reach this website.

ONCE AND FOR ALL, (right now blogs are unblocked in China)

Get a tor, they work soooo much better than other web proxys! You can even comment when you have tor installed, also you can read wikipedia :)

http://www.greatwall.cn.tp/?p=23

This great site tells you step buy step how to do it. I used this when I was in SH and blogger was blocked.

I wish them bankruptcy

A package of Pocky costs 4 rmb in China. Here in Sweden it costs 21,90 almost 22 rmb.

1 rmb are almost equal to 1 kr.

The Chinese store in Stockholm sell it for more than 5 times higher price than in China!!!
If you go to Cityshop or some other fancy western grocery store in SH you don't see ceral costing up to 150 rmb!!!! Don't give me lame excuses that their logistic is different, 5 times the original price is waaaaaaaaaay off the hook.

I hope this Chinese store goes bankrupt, and this time I don't care if this store happens to be my friends' friend's shitty store. IT'S A SHITTY SHITTY STORE.
Did I mention that their vegetable baozi cost 15kr?

Chinese wedding

Oh my gooooooood. I can't believe my cousin is getting married!!! It still feels like yesterday my grandmother forced me to let her put some weird gel in my arse so I could be able to poo while my cousin stood by the door and laughed. Old times, good times.

Me and my cousin were really close when I was 10 and he was 19 years old. We would fight and pick on eachother ALL the time, we would go to the grocery shops to buy food for our grandparent, sit together and watch Sailor moon, etc. His mum was like a mum to me when I was studying in Shanghai, because my mum left me in China alone with my relatives. My cousin Cheng was like a big brother to me that I never had (I'm an only child).

But as years went by we never got as close as before since he found a girlfriend. I think the girlfriend was a bit jealous because of our close relationship, but come on. We are brothers/sisters, nothing else. I stayed in his apartment this summer when I was in SH, but I seldom saw him and if I did, he wouldn't even start a conversation with me. I'm really sad about that, he is like my only brother and I love him so much, but he would just ignore me.

ANYHOW, I'm happy that he is a husband now. He would be a good father as well although he is a bit immature. They will live happily ever after, both have awesome jobs and earn lots of money, even more than professional expats.
Gong xi gong xi.

PS. His suit is so unstylish with the dots!!!!!! Being honest, her dress is tacky. If I was in SH now their wedding photo would have been much better.

Ziyi Zhang

The black and white dress is seriously ugly and the sunglasses doesn't fit Ms. Ziyi Zhang.
Her best outfit was the lime dress she wore at the Golden Globe Awards. Even Swedish bloggers were talking about how successful her dress was, and she isn't very famous here in Scandinavia.

Vanity Fair has taken some really really stunning photos of Ziyi

Embarassing situation nr 1

Did you know that you have to give out your business card with both hands and also take another person's business card with two hands in China?

So a week ago, at this Chinese party, a person offered me his business card and I took it. Without thinking, I took it with one hand, read it, and was bored. So I was hoding the business card the whole time, wrinkling it, trying to make an airplane out of it and so on, anything that would make time go faster. Some girl was going to look at the business card, and she without thinking she screamed and laughed "Look how she did to the business card".

EMBARASSING, I tried to come up with an excuse that in Sweden it is polite to read the business card very carefully and do something with it, I was desperate to come up with something, not sure if they believed me or not. I told them that is why they had big articels in Swedish business magazines just about how to receive and give out businesscards in China.

Lame.

Best shop: I.T

There is no cooler stores than I.T !!!!!!! The store concept is coming from Hongkong, there are three I.T shops in Shanghai, one in Cloud 9, one in Plaza66 and one in Xintiandi. The one in Xintiandi is the BEST one. When you walk in, the interior of the store is AMAZING. There are two floors and the second floor is biggest for womens wear. Their shoe lounge is amazing, I just want to cry, they had Jill Stuart, Jimmy Choo, miu miu, Marc Jacobs shoes. And they were all beautiful, you could see that they only selected the BEST shoes to be there.

Besides the shoes you could also find brands such as Costume National, D&G, Martin Margiela, See by Chloe, Sonia by Sonia Rykiel, Tsumori Chisato and much more.

The only annoying thing is that the staff follows you, but they do that in every single upscale store. Btw, you haven't missed the news that Stella McCartney has opened up a flagship store in Plaza66?? I think it's so cool that their management decided to open it up in Shanghai! They don't even have SC flagship store in Tokyo!

You really should take time to do this, it is fascinating, this test was recommended in the book blink by Malcolm Gladwell who also wrote "The Tipping point".

Dramatic Discussions

I made a fool out of myself...............AGAIN (Surprise! ding dong)

A friend of mine and I were having stupid loud discussions in the kitchen about different topics such as how we love to be treated by guys even if we are totally against gender discrimination. We were also discussing about how much better China is than Sweden, how much more fun I have in big cities than small cities like Stockholm, we were also discussing about how Swedish men are so cheap compared to other countrymen, yada yada yada. We were basically being really mean to the Swedish nation (I feel bad now), but whatever.

This girl is in the kitchen cooking for my Greek corridor mate George, and I assumed she was foreign as well (as she didn't look Swedish at all), but it turns out she is in fact SWEDISH. She asked me if she could borrow my oil FYI. Ooooooooooops! I wonder if she got mad?

This has not happened only once, but several times. Even times in Shanghai when I assume that no one else understand Swedish I go there and talk shit about people we stand right next to in Swedish and it just turns out that he or she understands some bits of Swedish. Ahh, too bad. Embarassing. Imagine that this little small country in the North has actually lots of its inhabitants ALL OVER the World. Sweden has become a bit like a China, they are emigrating just like some Chinese people all over the place. Some are "smart" (dumb) to run to Thailand with taxmoney they never paid for the Swedish government (oh well) so now they can never return without being put in jail. Isn't world grand?
(this picture is taking from the Ibiza Hawaiian Party, there is some gross shit coming out from my face, DIET!!!! Go Shopgirl, you can do it!!!)
AND PEOPLE FOR GODS SAKE, VOOOOOOOOOTE FOR ME! I have only got 94 votes so far. Show some LOVE people!!!
