Britney's Comeback

The song is really good as well, I can just imagine the RnB room inside Attica being packed with this song playing. Listen to it here!!

Everytime they turn the lights down, Just wanna go that extra mile for you
Display of affection, Feels like no one else in the room
[Bridge]:We can get down like theres no one around, We keep on rockin', we keep on rockin', Cameras are flashin my way, dirty dancer, They keep watchin, keep watchin', Feels like the privacy
[Chorus]:Gimme Gimme more Gimme more Gimme gimme more (repeat 4)

Centre of attention, even when your up against the wall, You got me in a crazy position (uh huh)If your on a mission (ooh), You got my permission ooohhh

Another good dance song is this one with Timbaland!

Tonight I'm going to drink wine and eat sushi with my corridor mates, and I know where my passport is now!!! :D Lovely lovely

Im going to Paris this December

Am going to Paris on the 19th December, anyone have any suggestions of cheap places to stay at?
I would prefer hostels kind of places for backpackers, as I'm on my saving period and will go to Copenhagen and Barcelona in Oktober, and yes, also maybe London.

I'm really excited for Paris, I have been there 3 times before but never did I go to Louvre or any other famous sightseeing places!

Bloggers get free stuff but...

So when I was in Shanghai I got a very nice letter from a lady working for Costco (huge supermarket chain in the United States) who wanted to send me a travel kit with different skincare products. I was soooo happy! I love skincare products and I just needed some new skincare product. The brand is Borghese (in cooperation with Costco worldwide) and they are going in to the Asian market

So when I got the DHL Express package a few days later I saw that the travel kit included lots of different moisturizers, cleansing foam, eye gel, etc. But it was all antiwrinkle products.
I heard that young people like me should not use it, then it will take affect on the skin too much and then later when I'm old, those new antiwrinkle cream that I use won't work for me (and I don't want that to happen).

So I gave the travelkit to my aunt, she liked it, it was light and refreshing she said. I just feel bad that I couldn't try it. The reason I write this is that I want free stuff that I can use, not giving to someone else, because the consequence is that I won't get as much information as I need in order to give it a full review on the products on my blog.

I WANT TO WEAR SEATBELT IN THE TAXI

I want to and I know you as well would want to wear seatbelt in the back of a taxi! Because China has 2.2% of the number of motor driven in the world, but automobile accidents in China comprise 9% of the automobile accidents in the world.

Only this happens in SHANGHAI!!!!!!!!! And imagine now, 2007, we have many many more cars on the road, so just imagine the numbers of death now each year.

I was almost in a serious car crash in Shanghai on my way to Attica, it was very very scary especially when I was sitting in the middle with NO seatbelt. It is not hard, the taxi companies can just take the ugly dirty white fabric out and we customers can wear seatbelts.

We have to do something!
Sign your name in the comment section, write your name in it and I will send it to all major taxi companies in Shanghai and to the Shanghai major. It doesn't matter if you don't live in SH or China for that matter, as long as you think it is stupid of the taxidrivers to hide the seatbelts thing you should put your name on the comment section!!!!!!!!! PLEASE

Remember when you first got to sit in a taxicar in SH, scary experience?? That is what I hear from EVERYONE new in Shanghai, that they close their eyes and wish their best, even if it's a short trip from JingAnSi to Huaihai Road.
SO PUT YOUR NAME HERE on my blog. I suggest all your bloggers out there as well let your readers sign their names. We need at least thousands of names. Let us prove that we expatriates can make a difference as well in SH.

Maybe you think that I'm really naive, that it won't work, but I do think it can happen. It is totally illogical of them to NOT have seatbelts in the back of the car. We just need them to realize it!!!!

For you who are in China and cannot be able to comment, go to www.metrobloggen.se/shopgirl and comment there (Kommentera). We can do this!!!

My digital camera broke

After only 500 days my black Fujifilm Finepix Z1 broke!!!!!!!!I bought it in the US and have lost my receipt so I'm damned. If I should repair it, it will cost me almost like a new digital camera. As you know I'm trying to saaaaaaaaaave money.

Why am I not as famous as Xiaxue (Singaporean blogger)? If she were to mention that HER digital camera broke she would get a new one sent to her immediately from some fanatical admirer.
Life is so unfair!

Without my digital camera I can no longer be narcisstic and take photos of myself anymore!!!

This is me standing inside I.T trying on this miu miu dress. I don't even like the dress but just felt the neeeeeeed to try it on and see the result (which wasn't any good). The salesperson was soooo keen, did she seriously think that I would pay 13000 RMB to pay for that dress??? How stupid can she get?

So I have counted, for 13000 Rmb I can get:

  • 13 months of food supply for myself
  • One square metre in some apartment in Shanghai
  • Pay 50 African kids' school fee
  • 520 Starbucks Mocha Frapucchinos
  • A pair of ChloĆ© shoes and a Gucci top
  • One month of language school in England
  • Hire 4 luxury male strippers

Why is Sweden sooo expensive?

Being back in Sweden from China does make a difference, now I'm the rude girl who don't care to stand on the right side of the escalator, I'm also the rude girl who don't stand by the side when waiting to walk in the metro and I'm also the rude girl who don't say sorry when I hit someone by mistake.

There are things that I need to adjust too...

Also today, how is it possible to spend over 1000kuai???
  • Bought a public transportation card for a month 370kuai
  • Sent two small packages 88kuai
  • Met a friend and bought a caffe latte 15kuai (not bad compared to China)
  • Bought my university course literature 500kuai
  • Bought contact lenses liquid 62kuai
  • Bought 1kg peaches (loooove peaches) and 2 apples 24kuai
Sum: 1059kuai

sighs, I really need to save money!!! And I still have to pay 800 for my university activities and 500 for an all-in-one printer.

Extremely busy this semester

This semester will be soooo busy for me!
Besides 2 big business courses, I study language science, Chinese language and China knowledge. So regular students study 20 points one semester, I will be studying 47 points this semester. Gosh, I hope I can handle it.

I will still be blogging as this is relaxing for me!

I went to the registration for my Chinese courses today, I don't know if I should be disappointed or happy...
Only 3 or 4 hot guys in the group of around 60, rest are all ugly (one really disgusting guy who sat besides me and smiled at me >_< ) on the good side, I will be focusing in class...

By the way, I got an email from some French guy that is looking for renting a room in Shanghai for a year, maximum 2000rmb a month for one or two rooms that lies between Shanghai city centre and Fudan University, so if you have any ideas, give me a shout!

My friend installed it on my computer and since then I have become addicted.
You can make yourself look slimmer, hotter and cooler ;)

Boost your ego

Whenever I'm in Shanghai it is tradition to take those sticker pictures with yourself in it. The result is awesome, as the camera is just in front of you, you can make sure it's a good photo that you are taking. Also, the lightning is great so your skin end up looking white and like jade ;)

Taking 3 sets of photos cost me 15kuai in total. I like the place in Jingan Market, just behind Jiuguang Department store.

Being narcissistic and being psycho is different! As you see on those pics....

I <3 Facebook

I should be studying for my test in accounting but I can't just stop myself from checking facebook 10 times a day. It's addicting, I love those applications you can get. Facebook it's the new version of gestapo, knowing everything about everyone. Status, age, Political views, religion, etc. I love the Common friends thingy, with that thing you realize how small the world is!

I'm thinking of creating a group for this blog's readers because I want to know who you are........would you join?

edit: I absolutely HATE facebook, my friend just tagged me in 10 freaking horrible pictures with me in while she look drop dead gorgeous, that is just NOT ok!!! >_<

Home Sweet Home

Finally I'm going to see my parents!!!!!!!! I wasw so scared in the aircraft that I would never see them again.
I was just reading the diary entry I wrote when I was really scared and though that we actually might crash. The letters are written really rapidly and I can just tell that I wrote it so fast that I wanted to make the diary entry finished before the crash. I'm shrugging, it was so scary.

Yesterday I got my international student, it's a Chinese boy - Kenneth Pong. I will be helping and advising him through his foreign exchange term here in Stockholm University (Jiaotong ranked StockholmUniversity to the 86th best university in the world).

I look forward to this semester :) Just need to pass my test in accounting.

I shopped again

I promised myself to NOT shop anymore clothes this month as I have spent waaaaaay too much money in Shanghai.
But I just couldn't resist when it's 90% off SALE here in Stockholm

This dress from Acne (one of my favourite brands) cost over 1000 rmb (SEK) before and I bought it for 100!!!!!!! That is insane!!!!!!! You would never find those deals in Shanghai!

Seriously, I think some Shanghainese women should come to Stockholm in the middle of July and just shop, because the sales here are much better than Shanghai!

Remember the art pictures that I took?

Here is the result....for 300rmb it was still worth it! Although I'm not very happy about the pictures.

Sorry if the pics are a bit blurry but that is because I didn't use flash on my camera.

I'm most satisfied with the one of me in light blue and blowing a whistle. I have like 3 more that I didn't show you.

Back in Sweden (worst planetrip ever)

I'm back, arrived 2 hours ago. When I'm sitting here, at the same spot, as I did for 2 and a half months ago it feels like I have been in a time machine. Yes, I had fun in Shanghai but I didn't accomplish anything.

The trip back was not a good one, in fact it was quite horrible. The plane hadn't even been flying for 1 hour and it was shaking A LOT. I cried in silence thinking about how my life would end, how I have been wasting my time with lots of unnecessary things, how I haven't achieved a single good thing this year. I felt like throwing up, I have never in my life been so scared I think. The stewardess were running past our seats to sit down because of the turbulence, also someone's glass almost fell because of it. People were silent and watching each other, I could see that people were sweating and the fear in their eyes. I was just one of them.

When my feet landed in Heathrow I felt sooooo good. Then on our way from London to Stockholm it happened again (not as bad as the former one). The plane dropped suddenly and alot of people were screaming. But it happened so rapidly that I didn't even realized it.

I just feel so glad that I'm back home now, and I appreciate life so much. I can't wait to go back to see mum and my stepdad. Bringing them mooncakes, green tea and Hangzhou cakes.

Review Hangzhou

Now I'm back in Shanghai, but not for long (unfortunately)...

Hangzhou was great but still it is a city that I would possibly be bored of...

People: Nicer, the people were surprised to hear that my cousin and I were from Shanghai as they thought we weren't as arrogant. There was a very nice lady who walked with us so we could find the shopping street Wushan Lu. People are less trendier in Hangzhou but the guys are still a bit "gay". I have proof with that picture of the men who use their pink and light blue umbrellas when it's not even raining, they use it so they don't get a nice tan..hmmmm

Places: Of course Hangzhou is more beautiful than Shanghai, it's a fact. The landscape is truly amazing, I have never seen anything like this and I really enjoyed it. Although I thought Hubin Road (where we lived on) was a bit pathetic although fairly charming. Hubin Road is the road just by the lake with lots of hotels, designer shops and restaurants, the equivalent to Shanghai's The Bund. I visited temples, towers, the lakeside, silk store, Liubing's house, mountains, etc.

Food: I like Beggar's Chicken and Dongpo Meat, although I never had the chance to taste Cat's ears (I got gobsmacked when I first read that they had it, but then it said what it really was, look at the picture with the text). They have plenty of tea shops specializing in green tea around town, I bought that and some typical Hangzhou cake for my relatives.

Shopping: A disappointment, boring malls and the small places selling cute and small stuff were all expensive (cost just as much as in Shanghai, I rather but it in Shanghai as we have more selection etc.). I ended up buying a hairband, a pair of earrings and a metallica bracelet.

Clubbing: Believe it or not, I can't write about it because I never experienced Hangzhou's nightlife...

Will have a Teppanyaki goodbye dinner on monday and then probably party afterwards...

Ah well, any ideas? I want to do as much as possible before I leave this paradise.

Cool Stores in Shanghai

Fumin Road: there is a herb shop there with imported herbs such as cinnamon, cumin, etc. EVERYTHING

Fumin Road: there is a shop there only selling stuff with Mao ZheDong, I happened to go in there when I was wearing my Mao Tshirt and they seriously thought that I was going to buy another one for 180rmb when I can get one for 20rmb in Science and Tech Market! HA!

Changle Road (near Fumin Road): there are two shops selling lots of toys from the movie Transformers, also there are two shops selling skate clothes. Really nice Tshirts and hoodies from Billabong and other brands (very good price as well). I like!!!

Julu Road (opposite that orange service apartment I used to live in for 6 years ago): there is this clothing shop selling real brand clothes from current collection(French connection, bebe, etc.) for a good price, the seller seems desperate to sell so you will get good deals. I didn't end up buying a beige top (tunic) from bebe (could have got it for 160kuai), maybe it's still there. It's really nice.

Shaanxi Nan Road (near Julu Road): if you want to buy real nice quality leather bags that look exactly like the real Chloe bags, then go here. 700kuai for one of these bags is required...

Faith of Chinese hairdressers

A lot of times in hair salons, me and the hairdresser begin to talk a lot. Once we had a really long conversation. I asked about their situation, why she came to Shanghai, etc. I asked those repeating questions to her while she was working for Wenfeng

So what she told me really shocked me.

They start working at 8am until 11pm nonstop. On Weekends as well. They get one day free per month. They get free accomodation by Wenfeng (one of the large hairsalon chains).

That is basically it...and their monthly salary is around 900 rmb (a nice dinner for an evening).
Read more here from another blogger

There are none Shanghainese working in Wenfeng (I have never encountered a Shanghainese there)

My cousin's friend earns 5 rmb and some jiao each hour working in Pizza Hut as a first-timer.

Now...appreciate what you have!

Fashion show on the Great Wall

How cool is that????????????

The Great Wall of China is one of the most anticipated fashion hot spots this fall. Karl Lagerfeld's creations will be strutting down the wall in a fashion show. It will be the first time the Wall is used for a runway show. Karl maintains that it s just another show, but the hype is outstanding.

Is this another topic alike to "Starbucks in Forbidden City"......

Good deals in Town right now

I have been wander about in downtown Shanghai, and I have personally encountered these deals that I have used.

All izzue stores: limited selection from their previous collection where you can buy one thing for 300, two things for 420. So I bought a pair of black tapered jeans and a black linen top. Love it. http://www.izzue.com are available in I.T. and in a bunch of upper class department stores.

Manicure in Infiniti: Newly opened manicure place on 4th floor in the department store Infiniti (opposite Times Square on Huaihai Road, same department store as Babyface is located in). Because it is newly opened, their prices are really cheap. I paid 10kuai for them to paint OPI nailpolish on my nails, usually it is double that price.

Chinese Buffet at Regent Hotel: 2 for 1 price. 188 per person + 15% service fee. Am taking my cousin there for her birthday. (shanghai V Restaurant) +86 21 6115 9628.

Sunday sunday

Last night I was a good Chinese girl, except that I didn't sleep before 11pm....
I went to sing karaoke with my cousins in Metro City (Xujiahui), Haoledi sucks compared to Partyworld...
After singing 7 Jolin Tsai songs and maybe 20 other songs I didn't really felt like partying afterwards.

So that is why I'm sitting here on a Sunday without a hangover which is nice. The weather is not crap nor extremely hot so I'm sitting and wandering where to go today by myself. Sometimes it is really nice to just wander about not knowing where to go....

I can't believe that my trip to Shanghai is already ending soon, on the 15th August I will say goodbye to this city for a while, will come back next summer though!

Muse2 Grand Opening Party

Last night I went to Muse 2's grand opening party on 5th floor in Plaza66. Muse has opened up in another venue and taken over WynnWin's former place.
I don't know if I like clubs that are located in a shopping center (Babyface, Rojam, G+, etc.)

I think Muse2 was a bit cheesy. There were western angels with masks walking around all over the place, they had awesome bodies, but when a girl took off her mask I wanted to throw up. How they danced was even worse.

I also saw the best(worst) dancer of the year. I have never seen anything likely. I swear to god, she MUST have taken something, because I don't think a normal person would ever dance like that. She was like a scary crazy dancing machine. No wonder the Chinese call ecstasy yao tou wan (shaking head pill), never seen anyone shaking her head that much.
She was just....WOW! (managed to take a pic of that girl in red)

Muse2 is not a place I would pay for getting in. Definitely not.

Laris on Thursdays

If you read my top 5 drinks in Shanghai, forget everything I said, because best drinks are in Laris.
On Thursdays they have their martini nights, 2 for 60 kuai. I have never tasted so good drinks as in Laris, their chocolate martinis (is to die for), mango martinis, berry martinis, mmmmmmmmmm.

And the crowd is good as well, lots of beautiiiiiiful people inside and the decoration is so nice as well. Cool music and nice ambience.
A bit sad that I found this place in the end of my stay :(

Also another deal is that you can enjoy Italian snack buffet in Westin Hotel (pictures) for 100 kuai including 2 glasses of cocktails/wine/whatever. They really can mix drinks, my Cosmopolitan and Singapore Sling were perfect!!!

Strip Show in Attica

Last Saturday Attica had their Grey Goose Vodka Party. I didn't really want to go if it wasn't for some Swedish friends leaving Shanghai the next day. Got really surprised when I went into the room. There were actually girls with hardly anything on the bodies dancing with a pole in a cage. I have never seen anything like this, all my friends were just as surprised as me.

However, I don't think anyone will see me in Attica any more, I want to avoid that place. Have been there more than 20 times now and it's getting absolutely tiring.

Poor now

Wow, I don't think I have ever spent so much money in my whole life!
My cousin from France is here so we have been shopping nonstop for 3 days.
First day we went to Science and Technology Market and shopped for 6 hours, next day we went to the market outside Yuyuan (I bought a communist bag!!!) and then today, we went to Zhongshan Park's metro where they have tons of good stuff for a really good price.

I bought lots of Hello Kitty stuff, Mao Tshirt, Clothes, a real leatherbag (look like real vintage mulberry), a Samsonite (fake) hand luggage for 180...

My whole livingroom is full of bags, it looks like Im going to open a shop or something.
