My tickets have arrived!

So the 6th June I will be going from Stockholm to Shanghai.

Can't wait!! Will be arriving in the morning the 7th. I love to travel by myself.
I have 5 hours in the best airport (Heathrow) so lots of duty free shopping to do!

When I arrive in Shanghai I have realized it's just stupid to take the taxi to downtown, I always go with that shuttle bus just outside the airport, it only costs 20 rmb from the airport to Zhongshan Park!
I will meet my mother this time in Shanghai, I'm so excited. I want to take her to a nice restaurant, any tips?
I'm going with British Airways to London and then 12 hours from London to Shanghai with Virgin Atlantic. My first time with that airline, anyone else tried it?

Cold Stone Creamery in Shanghai!

Tell your friends about www.pkblogs.com so Chinese residents can still read my blog. I'm thinking of buying a domain name so they can still visit my site, but then they wouldn't know my URL.

Ahhh, this is frustrating. What have I been doing these days? Sitting and studying while arguing with guys from the Shanghaiexpat forum as they think I'm a golddigger which is a really funny thought.

Some exciting news! Cold Stone creamery is going to open in Raffles City Mall in Shanghai!!! Cold stone's icecream is even better than Ben & Jerry's as you get to decide yourself what to put in the icecream. I remember my favourite was Mud Pie Mojo and Peanut Butter Cup Perfection. When I was in the US I was totally addicted to it. Let's get fat this summer, the store will open in April. If you tip them, the staff will sing a song. How nice to hear some Jay Chou songs.

Unhappy

It feels weird that I have lost 250 readers per day just because of China blocking blogspot. I thought my new domain name would work, but it doesn't (www.siyansblog.tk).

The only way for Chinese residents to read blogs is from using proxys or www.anonymouse.org. So tell you friends in China about it.
I've been stressing about my Calculation Test so until Wednesday I don't think I will have anything fun to blog about.

China has blocked my baby

I'm crying my heart out.
www.siyansblog.tk is my new URL, please use this one instead!

Just when I have gotten a lot of readers and get praised by other bloggers, China has decided to block all blogs from blogspot. I hope they unblock it soon, otherwise I'd go crazy. Hope you guys know how to use www.pkblogs.com (With this you can access my blog even if you're in China).

The winner of my contest is Al McDowell (British expat in Shanghai)!!! A friend of mine who made the banner. I will send him a little package after my calculation test!

Other contestants, you were really good as well! There will hopefully be more contests in the future.

Shopgirl is very egocentric

Lately I have gotten tons of feedback from people telling me that I'm an egocentric girl. There's definitely some truth in that, but then again, how many 20 years old girls aren't at least a bit egocentric? People like attention. Who wants to be the little grey mouse no one ever notice?

I think the blog culture in China and Sweden is very different. In Sweden a LOT of people have blogs, the majority of them are 17,18 years old girls who take pictures of themselves and then publish it online. So compared to those girls I find myself very down to earth.

I follow a famous blog by a Swedish girl called "Karolina Lassbo", she is a lawstudent and her blog is among the most famous ones in Sweden, she gets invited to parties with Swedish politicians, gets to write in newspapers, etc. I took a look at her archive and I FOUND pics of her in a playboy bunny suit!!!!! And she had taken close pics of her breasts and thighs!!! I'm so disappointed, I looked up to her and I see this! (scroll down til you see it).

I don't call that being egocentric but incredibly cheap. How much are people willing to go in order to get readers? Personally, I rather be egocentric than being cheap.
[A Chinese girl from Beijing has moved in to our corridor!! I'm so excited! She seems nice, talked with her briefly in the kitchen and she said that she couldn't even recognize my accent when I was talking in mandarin to her!!! :) It really made my day, but also the shopping I did today, I bought two trendy tops from my fav. store H&M!]

Where/How do I meet hot girls in Shanghai?

Dear Cedric,
Lately I feel so bored of all materialistic Shanghainese girls. I know I have the potential to find a sexy woman who is not Shanghainese! Please advice me on this one.

Okay, you want to meet hot sexy girls in Shanghai that are not from Shanghai and are pretty on the inside? Cedric lets out a big sigh………

First off, I assume you have dated these types of women before and you know how to bring your A-game and can speak decent Chinese when in their presence. Otherwise you are getting into golddigger waters. And I assume you feel you have what these girls look for in return. Face it, they have usually been hit on since they were about 13 y/o and can usually play the game 10 times better than your average male. Dress right, act right and be interesting, really fun and confident.

There are three easy ways to pick up stunning (good hearted) women in any city in the world and I will list them here in order of importance:
-be rich
-be very good looking
-be extremely charming and fun to be around

If you are none of these, then it helps to be around the industries where these women tend to congregate, namely fashion, hotel and highend restaurants. Try the following:

Get invited to the fashion shows and luxury brand openings in Shanghai. Visit some of the higher end clothing and jewerly stores, get friendly with the sales girls, get their numbers and MSN addresses and be sure to get invites to their events.

Skip the 100kuai BonBon and Windows nights, drink the top end hotel bars in the Jin Mao tower, Shangri-la, Portman, Four Seasons etc. Dress to impress and approach them under the right circumstances. Wine events?…waste of time.

Eat well, Jean Georges, The Bund, Palladio, Tan Wai Lou, Whampoa Club, many of the staff at these locations are gorgeous as well and certainly interesting and worth getting to know if you don’t have the chance to mingly with the other patrons.

The national sport here is shopping. Being in that environment you will find endless pick up opportunities with a nice smile and introduction. Visit top end shops in malls and walking streets here on Tuesday afternoon and blow your mind at how many gorgeous women with time on their hands are in this city.

Get in the market and get referals from other women. A female friends referral is good as gold.
Now at the heart of every girl, they really do just want a nice guy with a good sense of humour. But the interesting thing about extremely hot sexy girls is that they may find you funny and interesting but they don’t just throw themselves at someone who doesn’t have a successful job, money and can provide them with a life and security that is inside the sweet inner girl of every woman. Real life ain’t Hollywood romantic comedies where a super model falls for some nerd or slobbering drunk because he has a good heart. Dream on.

My secret tip for our fine reader however, is that this week, Cedric will be checking out the Shangahi Literary Festival. The reason? Sexy intelligent women who spend a lot of time at home writing (authors) or reading. They like interesting guys, who spark their creative sides and can usually offer interesting and fun insights themselves. Check the events and don’t miss it. Good Luck!

Ziyi's new boyfriend

Ziyi Zhang's new boyfriend Vivi Nevo is apprently 20 years older than her, and is one of the richest men in New York.

Personally I just think that more Chinese girls are attracted to older men. My cousin told me that her friends had told her that they want men in their middle thirties when they are in my age.

Personal preference I guess.

Family Drama

My family (mum, her siblings, my cousins) are in a "competition" with my mum's cousins' family. Mum's cousin's family is very rich, they have several high end apartments, their business goes really well, etc. Of course they are winning this round, as we are not as nearly as rich.

But then we talked about the third generation, with me included. My mum believes that our family's third generation will win the next round. We just heard that the other family's little sohn had been accepted by a mamahuhu (so so) high school, and the other girl didn't get high grades in this mamahuhu school, whilst in our family, 2 girls are in a foreign country, one of them (not me of course) won the Olympic championship in math and received the prize from Paris' mayor, 1 going to a famous good university in SH, 1 is just a recently graduated "really high paid" lawyer who just came home from the US to work for Melvin and Myers (just because he is a male, everybody praises him).

Right now it looks like this generation with me included is doing a good job. But my mum also told me that she thinks "I'm a satin pillow but filled with grass". My mum's cousins family look at me and believe I'm impressive, " she speaks several languages, lives in Sweden, has studied in the US, etc. etc."It's only my mum who understands that I'm not impressive, I don't have A's in all subjects like my other cousins, I'm not in the best university like my cousins are/were, I'm not as smart (I'm more lazy and rather do other things than study) as my cousins are, I'm not as keen or sharp as my cousins, etc. Sometimes I even feel like I'm a prank.

I know some people will think, go your own way, don't care about what other people think of you. So I need to tell you that this is when the 14% of Chinese in me, finally comes out. I can't make my mother lose face in front of my aunts, I can't graduate and get a normal secretary job, I can't just be wondering around doing nothing "productive", and I definitely CAN'T fail this coming calculation test!!!!!

I'M GOING TO NAIL THIS CALCULATION TEST!!!
[There has already been a lot of discussions about me in my family, one aunt thinks I'm a selfish girl who is where I am because of my mother, another aunt thinks I have great potential but don't use it to the fullest, another one thinks Im too unproductive. Wonderful news!?]

FOOOOOOOOOD

I think I have PMS, so all I've been thinking about is food.

1. The Singaporean restaurant on 6th floor in Parkson on Huai Hai Road. You have to go there, they have awesome food, they also have a bar there. My cousin and I went there and we spent 100RMB in total and we both got soooooo full that we had a hard time to walk, and I lost my recommendation letter from my boss. That's what happening when you get that full by good food. They have both singaporean, malaysian, indian, thai food there. Really AWESOME!

2. So far the best bread place I've been to is Marc' Polo, they have this baguette with walnuts and raisins. Recommended! If you know any other good breadplaces, please tell me! I find it a hard time to find good healthy bread in China, seems all bread here are made by white flour. I want grains!

3. Go to City Plaza's supermarket in Jing an si on a Saturday to get lots of samples (now I'm embarassed). They have lots of foreign brands there, it's a typical supermarket for expats.

4. There is a tea shop/cafe just on the corner of Huai Hai Road/Si Nan Road called rnb (something like that) 一茶一坐. Their pearl milk teas are the BEST!!! I had the one with litchi in, sooooooo good!!!

5. I hope everyone of you in China have had "yu xiang rou si"鱼香肉丝, it's my favourite Chinese Dish of all time!!!

[I'm home from uni, and my mum is sooo spoiling me, (I love my mother) I have finally had REAL homemade food now, and my mum bought lots of chocolate for me. I'm hitting the gym as fast as I go back to Stockholm.]

I'm a normal girl

I consider mysef as a normal girl but with shoe fetish, when I was in Shanghai this fall - winter I bought a total of 10 pairs of shoes. If my budget allowed me, I'd buy another ten pairs. The reason to that is, I have small feet (size 36) so I easily find nice shoes in my size in Shanghai.

Best place to find cheap trendy shoes is in that Jing An Market behind City Plaza, and also in Zhong Shang Park metrostation.

Now I'm going downtown Stockholm to buy spring shoes!!! The weather here is sooo nice! I think it's even warmer than in Shanghai, the sun is shining and people sit outside. I love Spring! Today I'm going home to Lindesberg, my mum misses me. It's a 3 hours bus ride, but I guess it's worth it.
[I did a test, I'm 88% Russian which worries me!!! http://quizfarm.com/test.php?q_id=198104]

The Chosen One

Today when I was walking home from Calculation Class, there was a smug guy passing by, he slowly stopped when we passed by, the first thing I recognized was his tattooed fingers, on each finger there was one letter, together formed they said FREE, it was quite scary actually. However, he stopped me and asked me if I was interested in Bible studies, and I became very red in the face and said slowly "ummmm I'm in a bit of a hurry"...
He said OK and continued walking...

There were lots of people walking on that pavement, why did he ask me? Did he see my past from my presence that I once went to church every Saturday evening but then slowly stopped going.
After I rejected his bible study offer it kind of felt like I rejected God.

First year of high school I went to church every Saturday evening and became Christian, but after 1 year I slowly stopped going there. I thought it was boring, when people lifted their hands while singing I felt a bit uncomfortable, I just couldn't do it. After when I totally stopped going, the ministers sent me emails with topics like : How to get back to normal, Stay true to God, etc.
I felt uneasy as I didn't want to be rude and reject them, but somehow it felt weird to go to these seminars. So my year in the US saved me from those courses...

Do I have to go to church in order to be a good Christian? Do I have to strictly follow God's ten commandments in order to be a good Christian (I tell white lies a lot!!!) ?
I believe as long as I am a good human being (I believe in Karma) God will like me, or maybe I'm just justifying it..........???

How to get rid of her?

Dear Cedric, I have a local Chinese girl I met through work who is becoming quite aggressive in trying to get me to go out with her, meet her or whatever. She sends me a lot of text messages and calls trying to get me to do these activites. How do I get her to stop without being mean and causing problems with my work life.

Cedric:
Unwanted advances are certainly never pleasant, whether they are from girls or over zealous gay guys. Guys should take note and remember this when dealing with girls as well, they love attention, but not unwanted attention.
Most likely she is just being friendly and wants to meet some foreigners as it is something new and exciting to her. I think you can take two approaches with this, depends on which one you see as the better one for your situation.

The first, and one I prefer, is to unload her on your friends (or whatever you want to call expat acquaintances). Bring her out to a large expat dinner, you know, one of the 8000 going away parties, birthday parties, mixers or all you can eat and drink celebrations that happen thrice a week. You can introduce her to the group and over a few drinks she can mix and mingle and satisfy some of her curousity of the outside world. Be frank with her though and let her know it is not a date, but it would be good for her to meet some other foreigners and have some fun. If she is as aggressive as you make out she will probably leave the party with at least two or three other phone numbers and MSN IDs which will lighten the load on you.

The other option is a fairly easy out, since you have a business relationship. Tell her that although you like her and your other colleagues you tend not to mix work with your personal life. Just let her know that you are not interested in hanging out with colleagues as you don’t want it to affect work in any way. Then when she contacts you simply let her know you are busy with your latest project (or whatever) and don’t have time to chat.

If it turns out she says something really strange like, no problem, I was going to quit anyway, now we can be together all the time!!! Then write Cedric back and I will give you my tried and true techniques for unloading a stalker.

Ziyi is my idol

Zhang Ziyi is China's pride! End of story!

I'm so sick of all comments by locals that she is a little talentless bitch (I'm smelling jealousy all the way from Sweden). Let's make this clear, No way that she slept with Ang Lee or Zhang Yimou in order to get the film roles. Obviously she is talented enough to get international movie roles, and being nominated to prestigous awards. She is currently in the leading cast of a Hollywood production called The Horsemen, starring along with Dennis Quaid and Peter Stormare (Swede).

There are TONS of beautiful women, so obviously there is something besides beauty Ziyi have in order to get so far. I think she's awesome!!!

Then there are other Chinese actresses such as Zhao Wei (wearing a japanese flag Tshirt) and Fan Bingbing (who did sleep with the media bosses) who don't deserve the fame they have achieved. But obviously they are also smart enough to win media's attention so I guess they "deserve" it.........depends on from which perspective to look from.
PS. Someone here who went to see Sharam in G+? Did he play Dreams and Party all the time?

I always read your comments

Just wanted to tell you guys that ALL comments that you write, I'm reading them (no matter what if they are from old or new entries), as they get sent automatically into my mailbox. Some I answer, some I don't, but I'm reading all of them. So better check the old commentaries if you want to hear my voice again about that certain blog entry. Although you will more likely to receive a personal answer if you're sending me an email.
As I support freedom of speech I'm not deleting any comments unless it's advertisement or addresses to pornsites.

Cheers!
Please remember the contest of creating a banner for me, I've got so much swedish candy here that it is hard to resist! I want to send them away as soon as possible!

PS. I created this biography blog about me because I was so bored.
Also, don't forget to send your dating questions to Cedric, he's dying to get some more questions! You can send them to my inbox and I will forward them to him.

Attica is pretentious?? pppffffttt

[Pretentious: Making claim to or creating an appearance of (often undeserved) importance or distinction]

I guess you could say that Attica is Shanghai's most exclusive or hottest club. Am I right? I like Attica a lot, they play good music, have two dance rooms playing different music, an awesome terrace and nice interior. Although, I've heard some people complain that there are only pretentious people there and I kind of agreed with them, there were for sure many people there who were only at Attica so they could be "seen upon" by other less fortunate or rich people. They have weekly events called Vanity (how gay does that sound???)!!!!!!!!!!

But now........after going to Cafe Opera in Stockholm (I guess the equivalent of Shanghai's Attica), I must now say that I truly understand the word PRENTENTIOUS!!!

Brats watching every move you make and what you are wearing, brats who actually tell you clearly that they came to the club by taxi (So what????????), brats who tell you that they live on that "street", brats who tell you that people from Handelshögskolan (best university in Sweden) are only rich people, and of course that brat is a student from there! Brats who say: So do you want my number? (ehrm no thanks!!!!!!!!!!)
Come on!!! It's becoming too obvious here! Besides, 8 out of 10 guys have backslicks, makes me want to vomit.

<------ A "wannabe" brat with backslick who says :" Aren't you thirsty, I have my Daddy's credit card with me" by the bar.
(Hopefully, some day in my life I will learn to love Sweden)
I just remembered, there was this brat who told me that his dad worked at Sony Ericsson so he gets the latest phone models (ehrm...who cares????????).
I just can't stop loving Shanghai more and more for each day...
(The "pretentious" places are in fact not very pretentious at all)

But as I'm a famous hypocrite I will bring my dear friends to Café Opera when they come and visit me, I will also bring them to Stockholm's upper class version of Tong Ren Road aka Stureplan to party and dance to brat-music aka Basshunter.

I mean it was still a fun night, I was there at the same time as Hugh Grant!!! How cool is that!?
Btw, 9 March, Pete Tong will be playing in Attica.

I hate Chinese teachers

I still remember when I was three, my parents had sent me to some kind of boarding nursery in Shanghai. It was the worst time of my life. The whole boarding nursey was a dodgy place.

Especially that woman who can't be named (I actually forgot her name). She's evil. She is the picture of the word Evil. She had picked me as her target to torture during that period of time. Maybe because she knew my dad got a job in Sweden, maybe she did it out of jealousy? I don't know. What I can remember is that every morning in the classroom when we had to all sit in a row, she would just yell at me for no reason at all. She made me stand in front of everyone so the other kids could see how I was crying when she was humiliating me. Also, when we had to wash our hair, she was the one who always came up to me to tell me how worthless I was at washing my own hair, after that she usually put schampoo in my eyes so it would hurt, also she would drag my hair til I cried. In addition to all this she also sometimes beat me in front of others. Remember, I was three years old!!!
If this happened now I'd claw her eyes out, spit her on the face and try to hurt her as much as possible. But by that time I was three, I didn't know what to do. I also remember how this woman told me that I can't tell my parents how I was being treated, otherwise something bad would happen. Which made me feel even more sad and depressed.
I never told my parents, it was one day when my mum unexpectedly came to the boarding nursery and heard from the classrooms how the teachers were yelling and cursing at the kids that she asked me how I felt about being at this place, after that I never had to go there again.

I really wonder why my mother didn't file a police report, because that fucking piece of SHIT doesn't deserve to live a good life.

I hate how the Chinese schools can allow these things to happen.
I also remember when I was ten years old, studying in a local school in Shanghai, some teachers were fawning while some teachers hated me. The school still exists today, An Fu Road Elementary school. The math teacher made me stand in front of everyone because I had failed a math test and told me that I shouldn't be proud of myself, that I'm a nothing despite that I'm from a foreign country. "Don't think you are better than the local students here, just because you're from guowai (outside country) it doesn't make you better than us" while tears were running from my eyes.[Excuse me??????? But have I ever implied that I'm better than you?????????? I don't fucking think so!!!!!!!! WANKER!!!!!!]

I'm planning my revenge...

Also other insults has been done to other kids in the same school (talking about the one on AnFu Road), teachers calling the students fat, poor, etc. One teacher yelled at a student because his dad worked as a garbage collector. That really hurt me. I got soooo pissed and I wish I wasn't such a whimp at that time, because if this was now, I would tell the teacher to back off! She can go and drive her trash by her own, as she is a PIECE OF SHIT herself.

[If you want to know more about how some Chinese teachers suck at their job, please watch the movie "Little Red Flowers" by Zhang Yuan]

14. (But you realise that everything is so true as well...)

Stockholm vs. Shanghai

Today after class I had to take the metro to downtown so I could buy a pair of new cheap headphones (turned out that it wasn't my iPod that got broke but my headphones). So while I was stressed (had to go back to the metrostation before one hour had passed so I can go back home with the same metro ticket, the traffic here is FREAKING EXPENSIVE!!! and I'm a poor student who rather spend my money on ZARA clothes than on metro tickets) I thought, Damn, I just walked rather fast for 5 minutes and I had already done maybe 1/5 of this city's inner downtown area.

Stockholm is Sweden's biggest city, which is a VERY depressing thought. The main shopping street aka Drottninggatan is a walking street just like Nan Jing Walking Street. But the sad thing is that it has not even the 1/5 length of Nan Jing Walking street!! Nor is it as wide, I believe NanJingWalking street is about 7 times wider than Drottninggatan.

However Stockholm can always be proud of that world's second biggest TOPSHOP is going to open on Drottninggatan, because really, there's nothing else to be proud of (or yes, actually there is, we have good cafes here compared to Shanghai, and it's much easier to spot goodlooking boys)

Ben Macklin in Shanghai this July

No one can take this away from me!

21 July, I have already written it in my calendar, Ben Macklin is coming to club O2 in Shanghai! Be there or be squared! I just live by that club! AWESOME! Who needs drugs if songs like these exist? I'll be dancing the night away in O2!!!
Today, I thought my ipod got broken and I freaked, literally freaked. Music is my drug.
Turned out that I was stupid enough to remove all songs from the player.
Now click on the play button and get high!

Have you noticed that all good DJs are from the UK? Ben Macklin, Chris Lake, Paul Oakenfold, John Digweed, Carl Cox, Sasha, etc. So they do not only produce goodlooking guys but also very talented and creative DJs ;)

Gossip time

(edited, if you want to know what was being said on this row before, write me an email, not for the public eye, because someone might get hurt. Yes, I do respect people's feelings.)

Another story that my Chinese friend told me. A Chinese exchange student (girl) desperately wanted to continue her stay in Sweden after her visa ran out, so what's the solution for that? Of course to find some Swedish man to marry, but Swedes aren't that stupid to marry someone after knowing them for a month. So this desperate little Chinese girl finds this as desperate Chinese guy, who tells her that he luckily has a Swedish passport and can offer to help if she has sex with him. This naive little girl thinks it's a smart strategy, so she actually sleeps with this disgusting guy (he actually dared to ask me out, did he really think I would say yes?? HELL NO). Of course this pathetic guy runs off after the intercourse and tell the girl that he doesn't have a Swedish passport.
The poor girl stands there all alone thinking: just one month left, what to do?
