I WANT TO WEAR SEATBELT IN THE TAXI
Only this happens in SHANGHAI!!!!!!!!! And imagine now, 2007, we have many many more cars on the road, so just imagine the numbers of death now each year.
I was almost in a serious car crash in Shanghai on my way to Attica, it was very very scary especially when I was sitting in the middle with NO seatbelt. It is not hard, the taxi companies can just take the ugly dirty white fabric out and we customers can wear seatbelts.
We have to do something!
Sign your name in the comment section, write your name in it and I will send it to all major taxi companies in Shanghai and to the Shanghai major. It doesn't matter if you don't live in SH or China for that matter, as long as you think it is stupid of the taxidrivers to hide the seatbelts thing you should put your name on the comment section!!!!!!!!! PLEASE
Remember when you first got to sit in a taxicar in SH, scary experience?? That is what I hear from EVERYONE new in Shanghai, that they close their eyes and wish their best, even if it's a short trip from JingAnSi to Huaihai Road.
SO PUT YOUR NAME HERE on my blog. I suggest all your bloggers out there as well let your readers sign their names. We need at least thousands of names. Let us prove that we expatriates can make a difference as well in SH.
Maybe you think that I'm really naive, that it won't work, but I do think it can happen. It is totally illogical of them to NOT have seatbelts in the back of the car. We just need them to realize it!!!!
For you who are in China and cannot be able to comment, go to www.metrobloggen.se/shopgirl and comment there (Kommentera). We can do this!!!

They need seatbelts

This has nothing to do with the seat cover - even with you could have a seatbelt. There are quite a few drivers who don't leave the locks under the seat. Anyway a seatbelt doesn't help much in a Santana. Try to take the Kia Taxis because they have seatbelt locks in the back.
the funny thing is: taxis in Shanghai have signs indicating that wearing a seatbelt is necessary, however they don't provide any^^
If the taxi drivers want to have the seat covers, that's fine. I just want them to cut small holes in them and let the seat belts be free and available!! Has anyone ever asked a taxi driver why they hide the seatbelts?
