Differences

The tempo in Shanghai is so rapid, while here in Sweden, it's very relaxing.
I can still remember when I was in shuttle bus from Pudong airport on my way to the apartment in Shanghai, I could see all the new building projects along with skyscrapers, big malls, and yes, the traffic was horrible.

On my way from Arlanda airport (Stockholm) to downtown, all I could see was forest after forest. Some buildings (the highest one had 6 levels) with big companies' name on it, one lame building with a big poster saying "we are building the world in here". Oh really?

While in downtown there were hardly any traffic at all, just old buildings. Don't get me wrong, Stockholm is a very beautiful city, but it is a city where you can walk through in one day.
Sighs... I have to wait 6 more months til I get a good massage for 10 kr/kuai

Im back in Sweden, the house is so nice and warm compared to the apartment in China.

Last days in Shanghai I've just been sitting at home and partying during nights. Yeah, I have also been eating Chinese food. Will miss it.

Although Im really enjoying Swedish food right now, hönökaka, swedish cheese, swedish butter, julmust, prinskorv, meatballs. Aaaaaaaahh, so nice! Yeah, I have a PARADIS chocolate box at home, hehe. Swedish pralines, you can't beat that!

I will go back to Shanghai this summer, I just know that. Because let's face it, Sweden is b-o-r-i-n-g.

Maybe it will get better in Stockholm, who knows? Im still going to Shanghai this summer!!!

I love the people there too much except one of my aunts >_<

Wicked weekend

This friday after work I took the metro to Zhongshan Park straight after work. Would meet my auntie and my cousin for dinner. Then later I thought I'd go out to party, but then decided to stay at home. Past midnight I get a text message saying I have to go to Bar Rouge, haha noooo way, not when Im in bed.

Saturday I went to go shopping with T, found awesome hats for later at the dinner. So we went to Big bamboo to have christmas dinner with his football team. One in his football team is from Sweden, he is from Degerfors, so that was pretty cool. So people wore funny costumes and wigs, luckily some in hats. After dinner we went to Glamour Bar for a short while, then finally to Attica where we stayed. Attica is one of Shanghai's most luxury clubs. The location is amazing, and the interior is awesome! They have two dance floors, the main floor playing electronica and house, and the other one playing top 40. Drinks there are hyper expensive though :(

Such a fun night!

Yesterday I went to the bank to get my bank card, and the Chinese bank havent gave me the money from the Lufthansa check yet!!! It should have been in my account for 2 weeks ago! Im so angry!!! However, it didnt stop me to buy 37 DVD movies at our small apartment. A DVD seller rent the apartment and gives us special prices! ;)

Every single season of Sex and The City, LOST season 3, casino royale, miami vice, MI3, just some of the DVDs I bought.

Celebration

These last 2 days have been awesome!

12th December I got my salary :) and got accepted to Stockholm university's economic programme.
13th December was my birthday.... after work I went and bought some strawberries, pears and papaya to grandma's. There they had ordered lots of food from the local restaurant, Beijing Duck, corncake, fish, etc. So much food!!! Everyone came which was a lot of fun! Then we had a huge chocolate birthday cake, but it wasn't that good, Chinese desserts are just not as good as western desserts! Got a Guess wallet, some other stuff and chocolate(lots of chocolate, luxury pralines from Isetan), as people know what a chocoholic I am.
Later I met up with T, we went to Zapatas (free margarithas for me), but they play so silly music there on Wednesdays, and there are lots of OLD expat men chasing after young local girls! So we went to a club mint instead, much better! They play awesome music on Wednesdays, vocal house, aaaaaaargh, love it!!! Had lots of redbull vodka so I was still drunk this morning in office, had 3 hours sleep...

Such a fun night though :D

Visiting my cousin's university

I got the chance to visit my cousin Beibei's university and her dormitory...wow, what an experience.

Me who was a bit worried that I had to share bathrooms with 2 other girls in my university in Sweden, would be horrified if I was going to live where my cousin lives!!

My cousin goes to one of Shanghai's best finance university, and she shares room with 3 other girls in a 15 m2 room!!! There is a balcony as well. The bath room is horrible, there is no toilet in it, so you have to sit on your knee while doing your thing! I'm so happy that I'm going to have an own room with hopefully an own bathroom!! My dear swedish friends who are in uni, please appreciate what you have!

My Weekend

Friday after work I was too lazy to go to the gym :(, went home and then later going to a club opening. I was supposed to go to a Korean resturant opening, but would be just too busy if I did! This new club is called 021 Magenta playing hiphop and trance (I think). Free drinks for ladies, and the place was PACKED, not so fun when it is this packed, so past midnight I decided to go to bonbon instead, that place was also packed because there was this special event. Although it was more fun at bonbon.

Saturday I went to Gubei, they have an underground market there, saw a really nice Mulberry Bayswater bag there for 750SEK, but that is just too much money...even if it's a really good copy of a Bayswater. Later I met up with some friends from shexpat by Hongmei area.

Decided not to go to the french preparty north of Shanghai, so I stayed home and sat in front of the computer til midnight, so I could walk to O2 for Deep Dish, world's #8 best DJ!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was great, although they didn't play my favourite songs!! They poured expensive champagne on the floor, threw out Tshirts, had very revealing dancers, lol. The place was packed as expected. Left 4.30 am, didnt really feel like going to Bar Rouge at this time.

Sunday I went to Nanjing Xi Rd for shopping. Zara had sale so I bought a dress from there, then walked over to a fake market, bought an abercrombie shirt, watch, bag, tie, underwear, etc.

A good sunday!!!

Work's Christmas Party

On the 7th December our workplace had a Christmas Party. One from the Chicago TMS Office came to join, as well as the big boss from Sydney's TMS office. So we were 2 more people :)

During the day we had some presentation from my coworkers, they presented how the dealt with managing their accounts for McDonalds, DHL, Citymood(fashion magazine), Diageo (smirnoff, baileys, johnnie walker, etc.) Was very interesting to hear how they faced the challenges and etcetra.
They also handed out the Christmas gifts which was a new version of iPod shuffle, small silver thing with 1 Gb! And our company's name engraved in the back. Very stylish, so now I have 3 mp3 players, wonderful!

After work we had rented a van to take us to a restaurant, it turned out to be a fancy shanghainese restaurant close to the Bund. We had a private room with lots of delicious food and good wine. After the fancy dinner we walked to Peace Hotel, Shanghai's most famous hotel, it was built already in the 1910's and was the place to be seen during Shanghai's most glamourous days. We went up to the Roof Garden and had a perfect view of the river and skyscrapers, too bad it was such a cloudy day. There we had cocktails while listening to a jazzband and taking pictures, hehe. The weather was perfect, not too cold as it has been these days.

Hungover and food-indulgence

Last night, wednesday (as we all know, wednesdays should be a partyday) I walked on Huai hai Rd for like over 2 hours because I was going to meet Eric, LN and all the other french friends to have Teppanyaki. For 100 kuai (similar to swedish money) for all you can eat japanese food and all you can drink (beer, sodas, sake, some sweet alcohol, dont know its name). The food was AMAZING! Drinking games and singing french songs, lol.

Around midnight we took a cab to Zapatas, a Mexican villa with a bar in. Free Margarithas for ladies until midnight, but we missed it :(
However, still fun to dance on the bar there, lol. Felt a bit like Coyote Ugly :P
It was so packed there...hardly any space!

Right now I'm at work feeling a bit tired...and tonight we have an office Christmas Party, so I'm going out for dinner tonight as well.

Back again

Now I'm back again to this blog!

Ok, so this friday I decided to go to a German Houseparty, was fun. I got my wallet stolen on my way there, happening to me the second time now!! So my mood wasn't that great. Around 2.30 am some of us decide to go to Guandii, a nightclub playing hiphop and RnB, I love that club except for the fact the dance floor is sooo small!

On Saturday I was so tired, had an eye infection from my contact lenses and still pissed about my wallet. But decided to go to Jing an si to meet my cousin. Took funny photos in those booths like all local girls do, decorative stickers with your face on it. Then had some warm street food, so nice! It's getting so cold in Shanghai. Later I went to Jing an si area again to meet a collegue from work and his friend, so we went to a bar called Big bamboo, later I had street food on the famous Wujiang street. I was supposed to go to bonbon and see Jazzy Jeff - king of hiphop, but I was just too tired...stayed at home and was online on MSN until 3.50 am

Next day I had a big lunch in a local restaurant with my cousin which was nice, but I was bored afterwards, still not feeling that well so I went to the gym

This weekend was a bit boring I have to say...

and yes, seriously I think I might have a stalker :(
