Good weekend =)

This weekend was fun, especially with my cousin being here!

So friday I decided to visit Bonbon where Kenny Dope was playing at. Met so many people there that I knew before. Fun night out! Smartshanghai, shanghai biggest nightlife website took lots of pictures of us while we were partying and dancing, hhe. will put up those photos later when they appear on the site! :).
Saturday I went to Superbrand Mall with Beibei to eat Thai food and watch a movie, but the movie was terrible so we left after 15 minutes wathching it (Jade warrior). Later on I met a swedish girl and we went to Shanghaiist Halloween party, they really made an effort to make the place seem scary, so many people with a nice costume there, hehe, we didnt dress up though. It was quite boring though, because we didn't know anyone there. We later took a taxi to Fuxing park but all places charged 100 rmb and I'm poor right now!!! So it ended up at Be for Time, 24 hours open restaurant, they have really good food for amazing prices!!!

Sunday, I had a big lunch with my relatives, we ordered about 20 different dishes from the restaurant and ate at home, so good food!!! Later my cousin, his girlfriend and I went and had massage for 2 hours! for only 100 kuai each! so damn cheap! It hurt though, but still very nice. I really needed a massage. Haha when my masseur massaged my foot he said, I can feel from your foot that you are not chinese, your foot are so hard, haha. According to him my back was also really hard, so he sugested me to stand by the wall each day for 10 minutes..HUH??

But it was fun, we had dinner at Element Fresh, I was sooo full afterwards.

getting sober at office

I had a very interesting day yesterday! me, Tracey and Mara took a taxi to a party, and we almost crashed!! It was sooo damn close, but the weird thing was there was this foreigner in the car and he had this weird face expression showing, ohh, 3 hot girls in a car, wth?? We were almost going to crash, it was so close, OMG, when I think about it, my heart starts to pound.
this House party was at some UK guys' house, it was fun. Lots of different nationalities, but mostly from france, UK and America. Oh yeah, one swede and one danish as well. They made really good drinks :) and I didnt have much dinner so I easily got a bit drunk :S

We stayed there for 2, 3 hours and then left to a club called Mint, it is a rather small club, and it was packed! When we just were going to leave the apartment, the cops came and said we had to turn down the volume, hehe.

So right now I'm at the office, had 4 hours of sleep and was still drunk this morning, now it is getting better. Today I had my first Chinese breakfast on the street, it's is sooooo good and so cheap. From now on Im having breakfast everyday on the street! :D

Saturday at DKD and Bar Rouge

Bar Rouge
Club dkd I spent my friday at home!!! My first friday staying at home in Shanghai, haha. On Saturday I went to Huai Hai Rd for some shopping but I only found a red oversize belt, the style is rather similar to the one by Fendi, but it's not of lacquer. In the evening I took the metro to Hongkou for a preparty with french people, you just have to love french people, very nice people.
So I met Eric by the metrostation and we bought 12 big bottles of beer, people must have thought we were going crazy! By the way to their apartment we saw a couple fighting in public, and the man beat his wife (I assume) in public, and no one did anything!!! If we haven't had all the beer I would have gone up to them and say something!

Well, the preparty was fun, they even made food and bought desserts! We also played some alcohol games with cards, not beerpong though. By 11 pm we took a taxi to a club called DKD, there we danced like nonstop!! so my legs are pretty sore today...

By 3 am we went to Bar Rouge, an upscale bar. Lot of models were there, Bar Rouge is just like Stureplan. Soo many Swedes there!!! They probably miss Stureplan?

Another Saturday where I got home past 5 am...

Should I buy those shoes?

First picture is at the Wednesday Mixer Event for shanghaiexpat.com. I'm on this photo, hihi. It was held in Malone's on Tongren Road.
Should I buy those shoes? They cost 250 RMB (250 sek) here in China...
I'm just afraid they will be out next summer...

Shopping

Today I finally got the chance to leave the office during work time. I was supposed to go with one of my coworkers Gloria (production manager) to a factory that manufactured neon signs. We need that for making signs and mirrors for Smirnoff, Guiness and Bailey's. Took more than an hour to drive there, we had a dodgy driver. I didn't eat breakfast so I was sooo hungry, have never been so happy when I saw McDonalds at the countryside by 2 pm.

Well, after meeting the supplier I had to use the bathroom, and the supplier tells me to go upstairs. Upstairs theret was a big room where all beds were at, the room looked exactly like those rooms you see in those documentaries about how China exploit its employees. The bathroom was soooo nasty, I couldnt even lock the door. So today, I really got to see another side of Shanghai, not the glamorous Shanghai that I am used to see.

I should've brought my camera to show you the bathroom!!!

We let our driver to stop on NanJing Xi Rd, Shanghai's most luxury street where you can see young fashionistas with the latest Marc Jacobs bag and carrying Chanel shopping bags. the brand Zara in Sweden is considered a budget-shop and here in Shanghai it is considered almost high fashion, just a regular top is like 500 kr, the same top in Sweden would have cost 300kr. The import tax here is unbelievable high for some reason.

There are so many choices here for shopping, for an example I found a pair of descent black pumps (80kr, it was sale, but still). There are also many shops here selling brands like theory, DKNY, miu miu, philosophy. These are real stuff, they get sent to these small shops because one hemstitch was wrongly placed. Perfect for me, because i don't give a sh*t if one hemstitch is missing or not! :)

I shall stop drinking

Well, I have finally got some things going on at my work, I'm doing a case study of successful product placements in movies. It's very interesting, but it's hard to find information. Deadline is 16th Oct and I would appreciate if you could tell me how to write a good case study. Is it like an article or a report with simple sentences? I think graphs are essential but I don't know how to do it... My work place is great, I have finally gotten to know some people including two people from Hong Kong.

This friday I went to a preparty, there I met some cool people, we went to this new club called Attica, it is an AMAZING club!!! The view from the terrasse is absolutely beautiful. After Attica we walked over to I Love Shanghai (a bar) and then took a taxi to Guandii in Fuxing Park. Later we walked over to Park97 and then California Club, came home 4 am.

Saturday I decided to take it easy, sit at Starbucks with my sweet cousin. But what the hell, I wore rather nice clothes so I decided to go to club O2, where John 'oo' Flemming was supposed to play. He winked at me!! so cool, hehe. At 02 we got free drinks from the bartender when I asked for it )they took away our almost empty glasses from the bar). A good night with some exceptions for an example I got into a fight with the taxi driver when I was first going to a preparty from Starbucks. After 02 we grabbed a cab to Babyface, I love that place!!! The sound system is AMAZING, you can feel the base with your WHOLE body, and my clothes were flowing because of the base, it was so cool. I spoke to a German guy who looked exactly like James Franco, the actor in Tristan and Isolde and Spiderman.
I love Shanghai's nightlife too much!! I came home around 5 am.

This weekend I have had 4 hours sleep...

First day at work

The first day I spent in front of a sony Vaio laptop for 9 hours straight!!! My eyes are sooo sore, and it seems it will be like this today as well, because right now Im on my computer, Im done with all my tasks, so I don't have anything to do. Yesterday I spent a a lot of hours to copy and paste alcohol products in Diageo's website. Diageo is the world's biggest spirit brand, they own alcohol brands such as Johnnie Walker, Bailey, Smirnoff, Guinness etc.

well, around 7pm we went out for dinner on Hengshan Rd (Azul Viva), a famoud road for its bars and restaurants. And while we were walking I saw a lot of foreigners with hookers next to them, ew ew ew!!! Although we went to a rather upscale restaurant I could see some hookers opposite of the restaurant. The food was really good and it was nice to get to know my staff a bit more. two people are from hongkong, and some are from other nationalities, it is an interesting work place.

Just soo sick of sitting in front of a laptop!

Happy again (first day at work)

Right now I feel that I am the luckiest girl! I went to my work place today (The marketing store) and it is located in a tall building, not a skyscraper though, but still in a very nice building. It is superclose to Huai Hai Rd. one of Shanghai's biggest shopping streets. The company has clients such as McDonalds, Smirnoff (free stuff please!!!), Coca Cola, a fashion magazine, etc. I met my coworkers and boss today, all seem very nice and I'm looking forward to get to know them better. So the first week I'm going to be with different employers and see how they work, and then I will have the chance to work on my own! So I get a laptop and an own email adress :). Sooo happy! Tomorrow night we will all be going out to have dinner :).

Today I also went to the bank, I saw this sleazy guy in pyjamas with a big black plastic bag and filled with money. stacks of money!!! I have never seen so much cash in my whole life. Today another person asked if I was japanese, most people do think that I'm from Korea, and one told me that I looked like a Korean who has had a plastic surgery..!!!!!!!!! what the hell?

Im so pissed

My internship starts tomorrow, so no more party hard for me on weekdays!
On thursday, I just randomly picked a place to shop at, there are small stores everywhere, selling hairbands, earrings, clothes etc. From that random place I took the bus to Nan Jing Xi Road, an upscale shopping street. When I was walking there was a girl who just came up with me and asked me if I wanted to be a model, lol. That would NEVER happen in Sweden, but yes, the girls here often do it here because they earn money from it when I buy the portfolio and stuff. I wanted to rest my sore feets so I went to Starbucks. Man, I love Shanghai!

This friday I attended my first Chinese wedding! Lots of food and many new faces. Later on, I went to Tanghui, such a nice bar! Then to bonbon, there I met a young swedish couple, and again, some other swedes. So many swedes here in Shanghai!!! Because I wore really high heels for over 10 hours I was so tired, so I took my shoes off and what do I do? I walk on glass in the club bonbon, so my feet are in PAIN!!!

Next day I met up with my cousin's girlfriend, we shopped for a while on Huai hai Road. Then at 11 pm I took a taxi to bonbon, and the taxidriver thought that I was a hooker because he said, you probably do as good business with the laowais (white men in shanghai) as you are doing with the taxi prices. ( I tried to argue with him about the taxi price) that sucks, just because a girl are going out at night doesnt mean that that person is a prostitute!!! Well, met two swedish boys and one taiwanese girl, she is amazing!!! Went to C's bar and then Windows - the meat market. So crowded in there and what happens? I get my wallet and calendar stolen!!! Im sooo angry!

take it easy for a while now

that is what I'm going to do!

yesterday I shopped at Zhongshan park and Huai hai road with a british chinese girl, later we went out. First we visited the skybar (the ball on the skyscraper's top) in Radisson hotel, it's on the 50th floor and the view is AMAZING. We were going to meet some of the finnish guys we met on sunday at bonbon. Later on we headed towards Barbarossa (a lounge/bar inside Renming park), it's really beautiful there, the interior is very morocco style, and the drinks are good as well! We smoked waterpipe, took me a while learning how to do it 100% correctly, haha. But it was a very nice experience! When Barbarossa closed, we went to Windows in JiuGuang mall, 50 rmb entry fee including one drink. What a SLEAZY place!!! Yeah, and it was packed to! On a tuesday night (3 am) The guys there are so horny and desperate that they'll go with anything! The girls there are rather trashy. Ok, Im generalizing now, but yea, it's a pretty sleazy place. But still, met some people including an Australian guy who studied in Lund for one year, a superdrunk Norwegian guy, some girls from Australia etc.

Came home 5.30 am, and have a curfew from my grandmother who says that I have to be home at 9 pm everyday...............

Bonbon - coolest club in SH?

My gosh, the first day I arrived I went out to a bar with a swedish guy, just for chilling though so not really partying, but the next day I was party hard, at a club called bonbon. Such a cool club, absolutely amazing, it's part of Godskitchen from the UK. The interioir is sooo stylish. I went there with 2 french guys, really nice guys, and it was open bar at bonbon which means free drinks all night. hehe, rather dangerous. Came home 9 am the next morning, oops.

2 days after I went to bonbon again! DJ Storm from Wu tang clan played, I LOVED the music. I went there with a BBC (british born chinese) and we danced nonstop, for almost 5 hours straight. So much fun, the swedish guy and his friends joined us, later they left. Met some finnish guys later who could speak swedish, pretty fun. It was funny because I met him on the dancefloor and he asked me, do you speak english, and I was like yes, and swedish too. And he got soo surprised, haha. but yea, it was lots of fun. the world is really small.

When I was standing in line at Carrefour supermarket I heard two guys saying "fan va lang hon tjejen dar borta e" haha, so I asked them if they were from Sweden. They were, they worked for Ericsson. switched numbers :)

I love SH, it's sooo easy to make new friends everywhere. People here are so openminded and fun!
