Cannes 2006

Right now all the celebrities are in Cannes for the annual movie festival.
I felt very disappointed when I saw Halle Berry's dress, extremely boring. Beyonce did a great job! Can someone tell me who she is wearing? I don't know if I like Sarah Michelle Gellar's dress or not, it looks weird but still unique, but one thing is for sure, I like her better in blonde hair! Audrey Tatou was exremely cute on the world premiere for the blockbuster Da Vinci code. I am mad at Avril Lavigne, how can she show up at Cannes wearing a regular summerdress, even if it is vintage Armani. Elizabeth Hurley looks cheesy in her purple dress probably from Versace. Penelope Cruz looks stunning as usual. Ziyi Zhang looks sophisticated in her simple black evening dress from Armani, but her hair is very disappointing. She looks much better here though. I wonder if there will be any more clothing scandals this year?

Carrie Bradshaw

Carrie Bradshaw from Sex and the City will ALWAYS be my style icon number one! I know I have been nagging about Sienna Miller and Kate Moss for a long time now, but the one who will always remain in my heart is Carrie Bradshaw. Although she is a character based on fiction, she is still an idol for thousands of fans; her values, her style, her sharpness, everything from her seems to attract us. She is the representation of a true big city girl.

How can we not love her?

My unhealthy day in the United States

The day started with cereals with tons of sugar, later on, peanut butter sandwich plus yoghurt and some grapes.
In the afternoon I had a cookie, some cashews, one mini-muffin. Later, I had a Coney hotdog, hot fudge sundae, elephant ear, ice-cappuccino. Yes, I am very full!!!

Nicole Richie has too many Balenciaga bags...

Seems to me that Nicole Richie is having a Balenciaga fiesta...
When we regular people could die for just one Balenciaga bag, she has over 10 Balenciaga bags, and addition to that, she owns other It-bags like Fendi Spy bag and Chloé Paddington.
The world is so unfair! I think she can give one of her bags to me, it's not that she would really miss the bag...

Here she matches her lips with her Balenciaga bag.

Recent outfits on Sienna and Ashley

Ashley Olsen is always wearing cool clothes, here in a big black Hermés Birkin bag and skinny black jeans (I have a pair too).

Sienna Miller was shopping with her mum in this outfit, seems to me that black tights and aviatorglasses are still in.

Jamba Juice

Jamba Juice is a place where you can buy different kind of smoothies. It is really good, trust me! My favourite is Banana Berry.
Celebrities like Nicole Richie and Britney Spears love Jamba Juice because it is as healthy as it is delicious.
As far as I know, Nicole Richie, Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton go often to Jamba Juice for their smoothies.
You have to try it if you have a chance. There are none here in Michigan, but I had mine in Illnois.

Dresses are a girl's best friend

I just came home from prom, and I saw all those beautiful dresses, so I thought it would be fun to give you some inspiration of dresses that are available. I want to show you dresses that are casual, elegant and formal, so you have one in mind for every occassion. I absolutely love this dress from Bottega Veneta, it is so elegant, perfect for a coctailparty. Another dress that would be perfect for a coctailparty is this one from Marc by Marc Jacobs. This dress from Alberta Ferreti is casual but yet glam. This dress from the rather new hip brand Thakoon has a cool design. This dress from Vera Wang is amazing, perfect for prom! This one from David Meister is also an option for prom, very simple and classic but with some unique features. But, the number one formal dress is absolutely dresses from Jessica McClintock!

Jessica Alba is a master of wearing nice dresses, this one is from Marc Jacobs.

Ziyi Zhang at "Over the Hedge" premiere

She is one of my favourite actresses.
I really like this outfit, casual yet glam.
City-shorts, oversized shirt, aviatorglasses, she is doing a great job with mixing different trends.
I want her Louis Vuitton bag!
This model is a newer one from their entire collection.
She is nominated for the MTV Movie; Best Sexiest Performance Award because of her performance in the movie "Memoirs of a Geisha". Vote for her on mtv.com

Her favourite designer is Giorgio Armani, she almost always wears Armani dresses on big events.

This week's style icon

I think the actress Selma Blair's style is definitely underestimated. Of the pictures I have seen, she has a very original style. I like her! She is very pretty as well and fit really well in both haute couture and ready-to-wear. I love this dress from designed by Marc Jacobs.
Selma Blair is also going to be in miu miu's fall campaign.

Here is she shopping in a Marc Jacobs store, she is wearing a pair of tapered jeans from tsubi, white converse, headband, chanelbag and a cute grey poncho. This outfit is perfect for a day of shopping.

Shoes Shoes Shoes

Since I came to the US, I have bought 7 (Oops) pairs of shoes, 3 of them from ALDO.
So I guess I am collecting shoes so I can have my own shoe wardrobe some day...
Shoes are essential for a good outfit, if your shoes don't match your outfit, the whole outfit is ruined.

Right now, the wedges and platform shoes are supertrendy. The picture shows a pair from Donna Karan, I found a pair of similar ones at Charlotte Russe for 25 dollars, I haven't bought them yet, should I?

My outfit

Yesterday, thursday I wore a long dark blue and white thick striped tank top, black leggings, brown belt, gold sequin shoes.

Today I am wearing my red summer dress from Juicy Couture with black leggings and of course my favourite gold sequin shoes. Perfect for a friday night. I think I am going to downtown Detroit tonight, aka the ghetto. LOL. They have some nice mexican restaurants there though.

The Costume Institute Party of the Year!

What a party, almost every style icon was there. Kate Moss and Sienna Miller in the same room, I wonder how that went...

I really like Lily Donaldson's dress from Alexander McQueen, the left girl in the first picture. She is a famous model and has done many campaigns for top brands. The same with Gemma Ward, the right girl on the same picture, she is only a month older than me.

Daria, the girl with Kate Moss is a superfamous model, currently she is on campaigns for Chanel and Lancome's new perfume Hypôse. She is Canadian.

Both Sienna Miller and Kate Moss were dressed in Burberry. I like Kate Moss' outfit slightly better, very elegant, classy and trendy at the same time.

Shopping freak

Here are my Top 10 shopping places

  1. H&M, I think I will always love H&M, trendy and good quality clothes for a good price.
  2. Forever 21, amazingly cheap and extremely trendy.
  3. Bebe, luxury designed clothes for a rather good price.
  4. Nordstrom Rack in Chicago, C&C California tanktops for $20 and Ella Moss top for $25, can it get better?
  5. Banana Republic, the best shop for classic quality tops and pants.
  6. ALDO, the best shoe shop ever, I already own 3 pairs of shoes from them.
  7. Urban Outfitters, trendy urban clothes like skinny jeans, chiffonblouses etc.
  8. Charlotte Russ, cheap store with lots of trendy and cute clothes, but don't buy jeans here.
  9. Neiman Marcus, if you have the money, this is a very good place where all the top brands are represented.
  10. Abercrombie & Fitch, have nice jeans, but that is about it.

My dreamshoes...

Should I buy them or not? If I would buy them, which color should I choose? I was thinking on the red, black or the blue pairs. Tell me, you can write a comment.
I absolutely LOVE them! They look like Christian Louboutin shoes that every single celebrity wear, but still those from ALDO are unique!
