Shopping

Today I finally got the chance to leave the office during work time. I was supposed to go with one of my coworkers Gloria (production manager) to a factory that manufactured neon signs. We need that for making signs and mirrors for Smirnoff, Guiness and Bailey's. Took more than an hour to drive there, we had a dodgy driver. I didn't eat breakfast so I was sooo hungry, have never been so happy when I saw McDonalds at the countryside by 2 pm. Well, after meeting the supplier I had to use the bathroom, and the supplier tells me to go upstairs. Upstairs theret was a big room where all beds were at, the room looked exactly like those rooms you see in those documentaries about how China exploit its employees. The bathroom was soooo nasty, I couldnt even lock the door. So today, I really got to see another side of Shanghai, not the glamorous Shanghai that I am used to see.
I should've brought my camera to show you the bathroom!!!
We let our driver to stop on NanJing Xi Rd, Shanghai's most luxury street where you can see young fashionistas with the latest Marc Jacobs bag and carrying Chanel shopping bags. the brand Zara in Sweden is considered a budget-shop and here in Shanghai it is considered almost high fashion, just a regular top is like 500 kr, the same top in Sweden would have cost 300kr. The import tax here is unbelievable high for some reason.
There are so many choices here for shopping, for an example I found a pair of descent black pumps (80kr, it was sale, but still). There are also many shops here selling brands like theory, DKNY, miu miu, philosophy. These are real stuff, they get sent to these small shops because one hemstitch was wrongly placed. Perfect for me, because i don't give a sh*t if one hemstitch is missing or not! :)
